Our Programme for 2025
Unless otherwise stated, meetings are held in Lydford Parish Hall and start at start at 7.30pm
February 22nd SATURDAY 12.30pm
Lunch at the Cross Keys, Lydford-on-Fosse
An opportunity to socialise with friends over a relaxed lunch.
Members to make their own way there and pay for their meal on the day.
Please email us to let us know if you'd like to come as food may need to be pre-ordered.
March 18th
Skincare and Beauty
Pauline Bisgrove will talk to us about skin care and beauty.
This will be an open meeting
April 23rd WEDNESDAY 2.00pm
Visit to Owen Barry Leather Factory
A guided tour of the Owen Barry leather and sheepskin factory in Street.
£3 per person including tea and cake. Booking required.
Members to make their own way there.
May 20th
Hedgehog Awareness
Laura Batt, who has been a volunteer at Prickles Hedgehog Rescue for many years, will tell us all about hedgehogs & what we can do to help them survive.
This will be an open meeting

Summer Picnic Social Evening on Lydford Sports Field
Bring along a picnic and enjoy a relaxed evening of conversation and a "just for fun" diversion.
July 19th - SATURDAY 10.30 am
Visit to Kilver Court Café & Gardens
A visit to Kilver Court café for coffee/brunch and (optionally) a stroll round the gardens (for which there is an admission charge).

Social Evening with a Game of “Chronology”
An evening of fun in the Parish Hall with an event/date based game of Chronology (played in teams). And of course, the chance to socialise over a cuppa.

The Local History Social Evening originally scheduled for October has been postponed to January 20th 2026.
Instead, we hope to arrange an evening visit to the Somerset Rural Life Museum in Glastonbury for a guided tour by a member of the museum staff.
The date and details for this visit are still to be confirmed, so please check back.

Sailing Around Great Britain
Mark Pilgrim will tell us about his adventures of sailing around the coast of Great Britain.
